The course also outlines the industry trends on corporate social responsibility and sustainability as a fundamental ethical pillar in the enterprise that is to succeed in today’s world.
Entrepreneurship and New Venture Creation
This course provides students with an understanding of the basic business and marketing principles essential for starting and running a new business. With the aim to provide a keen awareness for opportunities in the small and medium-sized business ownership, students are given the necessary skills and tools to successfully plan and operate a new venture. Exploring the key traits and characteristics of successful entrepreneurs provides the students with an insight into what is required in terms of research, planning, operations, regulations and innovation in order to start a new business.
Innovation and Leadership
This course outlines the relationship between managerial leadership and innovation in a modern business organization. Leadership is analyzed as the key skills needed to effectively lead an organization to change by embracing innovation through correct policies, compensation, corporate culture and communication. The course entails a strong focus on the various models of innovation, start-up versus corporation, open innovation as well as innovation in relation to globalization.
Change Management
This course takes a strong focus on developing student’s concept of change management in individuals, teams as well as organizations as a whole and the societies within which they operate. The course provides insight into the evolution of technology as a major element of change in today’s corporations as well as the pertaining challenges and consequences.
Personality Development
Personal development is a holistic psychical-spiritual process. ‘Spiritual’ always refers to values and meaning beyond the materialistic world. The psychical reality is the field of personal development. Human behavior is mostly tied to the individual psychical-spiritual state of a person, the result of countless forming processes since the prenatal time. The highest aim is a well-balanced development of all psychical forces, including basic patterns of dealing with life and people, towards efficiency, quality and wholeness. The course provides the essential knowledge about the characteristics of the development of ‘personality’ during the course of one’s life and reveals the importance of a consciously managed self-development (self-forming) in order to become strong and constructive for business and life.
